Autorub with their past few releases has developed a signature style of solid alternative rock songs. “The Falling,” is the latest addition into this repertoire. NY artist Michael Corn’s project has mastered the art of delivering rock that feels familiar and fresh. While in the past we’ve had political satire as a theme, here Michael fiddles with spiritual musings. Their last releases ‘Miss Mace’, ‘Women of the Right’ and ‘Oh Marjorie‘, are all worth checking out.

The song kicks off with distorted electric guitar chords that immediately transport you back to the late ‘90s and early 2000s. It’s like stumbling upon a forgotten mix of Fountains of Wayne, Green Day, and Matchbox Twenty—but with Autorub’s trademark touch. The song which begins with swaying rhythm and then the drums roll in and we are catapulted into great modern rock land. As the song progresses, it settles into a groove that’s alternative rock, but it’s also filled with positive post-grunge energy. It’s the punkish tone of the guitars that is the crown of this mix by Autorub.
The Falling is another solid entry in Autorub’s growing discography, and it shows the project’s ability to carve well-crafted rock music that’s easy to enjoy in the moment. With its catchy rock songwriting, this track will easily get stuck in your head. Fans of alternative rock with a meaningful edge will definitely want to give it a listen!
