Odelet is a multi-talented artist hailing from Detroit, MI, and currently based on the West Coast. Her distinctive writing style draws inspiration from a wide range of musical influences, seamlessly blending genres. Beyond being a gifted singer and songwriter, Odelet is also a producer, crafting and performing nearly all of her own instrumentation. Recently, she has ventured into creating experimental music visuals, which have been showcased at over fifty international film festivals and have won numerous awards.
Odelet has come up with a gorgeous album, “Pisces Pie,” with 11 songs.
The album opens with the title track, “Pisces Pie,” a jazzy R&B number. Odelet’s vocals have a soulful, feel-good quality that immediately draws you in. Backed by flowing piano keys and a relaxed beat, this song paints a picture of easy listening and unwinding. You can almost imagine sipping wine and letting the stresses of the day melt away as her voice wraps around the notes. It uplifts your mood and takes you to a calmer place. The vocals glide along so smoothly, carrying you with minimal effort. It’s the musical equivalent of floating down a gentle river on a sunny afternoon.
“Supreme” changes the pace by bringing strings to the forefront. They take on an almost Arabic character. The strings glide and soar, providing swing and drama to the production.

Meanwhile, “Ten Tons” showcases Odelet’s versatility with some peppy, upbeat percussion. Underneath a bouncy rhythm, her vocals retain their signature sass and sensuality. She invites you to slow groove and tap your feet, taking in all the sensual feeling yet bubbly energy. It’s an intriguing juxtaposition that keeps things interesting – passion and playfulness combined. The keys work here surely deserves a special mention! The ebb and flow and the textures are too good.
“Paired” by Odelet stands out for its unique vocal delivery and sparse instrumentation. Odelet’s “oohs” float over minimal production, drawing focus to her expressive singing. It creates an intimate, stripped-back atmosphere that showcases her talent.
Meanwhile, “Mesh” brings an airy, ambient feel through spacey production. Rich piano melodies enhance Odelet’s vocals, which, as ever, amaze me with their range and emotion.
“Unique” by Odelet draws you in with a sparse, soulful R&B beat and melancholy keys that set the stage for vulnerability. Odelet’s vocal delivery is incredibly nuanced, conveying layers of emotion through her warm, breathy tone. The whole aura of the song invites introspection.

In contrast, “Cinderella” combines retro hip-hop beats with subtle synth textures that give the track vintage flair. It takes your mind back to a simpler time as Odelet floats above the beat with her effortless flow. The melody is incredibly catchy, bound to get stuck in your head with its sing-along refrain of “Fall again and fall again.”
“Six of Cups” takes you way back with those jazzy beats and string instruments swirling all around. Then Odelet hits you with her breezy vocals on the track – just perfect icing on this throwback cake! It’s got a lullaby vibe, but her voice keeps it from putting you to sleep. “Whole” is another earworm for sure with those dope oohs and her vocals that are straight-up beautiful, almost ambient, too.
“Eclectic” by Odelet adds some neo-soul and jazz flavors, so the blend made me feel really addicted to the vibe of the mystery it creates. When “Carousel” closes things out, those crisp keys and fun melodies soothe the soul for real. And obviously, Odelet snatches the show once more with her talents on full display. The chilled-out R&B vibes of the track are such a relaxing way to end the album. Props to this artist for continually impressing with her vocal gems and musical diversity that keeps listeners engaged from front to back.
