The song kind of landed on my list at the perfect time. After a long, busy, and tiring day, I sat down to listen to the song and write its review. The coincidence caught my attention, and this is the kind of synchronicity I have come to love about life in these last few months. Self Soothe by Tony Frissore has the perfect 80BPM beat, which calmed me down and led me back into the natural flow of my heart. And thus, I succumbed to the beauty of the good loop. Self Soothe is adorned with a simple lyrical approach, “Breathe in. Breathe out.” in lo-fi, chill, retro-pop style. The track feels like medicine for a chaotic mind. A healing song that humanity is in dire need of.

Now based in Cleveland, USA, Tony Frissore’s roots are planted in Boston and New Orleans. He comes across as a boundary-less musician, shaping his sound through global influences. Funk, jazz, and jam culture saturate his creative spirit. In Europe, he immersed himself in club life and collaborated with prominent DJs around the world. At present, Tony performs with the band Pop Avenue while also continuing to build a prolific solo catalog. From his early EDM release The Übermix (2008), through hip-hop singles in 2012, Black Market Mix (2019), and the introspective, down-tempo album Quarantine Chronicles created during the COVID lockdown, Tony’s evolution remains constant. In 2025, he continues to release timely, statement-driven singles such as ‘Just Fade Away’, ‘The Eagle Has Landed’, ‘Stand for Freedom’, and now ‘Self Soothe’, marking his fluid identity.
