The choir was founded in 1988 by Shawn Cotterel and has since been directed and led by him till date. It has seen a lot of success in gospel-pop and choral circuits. The group has also shared the stage with gospel recording artist CeCe Winans, Pastor Shirley Caesar, Kim Burrell, Ricky Dillard, the Clark Sisters and R&B singer Bilal, world renowned Juno Award winner opera Soprano Measha Brueggergosman, David Foster and legendary Grammy Award winner Stevie Wonder.
