Kkailou’s midnight : A Genre-Bending Dream Folk Pop

For KKailou, music forms through multiple planes that loop into each other, a fluid world rich with expressive implications. Her soundscapes are changing labrinth that are inspired by whimsy, creativity, and imagination. The first thing that you pick up on is the artist’s love to stray, to lose her train of thought and keep on moving. Her deviance is soft and mellow, in service of her artistic spirit as she blends pliant folk scapes with dangling psychedelics, blooming electro warps, and shimmering pop.

Her latest release is ‘Midnight’, a track that teases the artist’s upcoming EP of the same name. It captures the mystique and contemplative nature of the theme. Lot of folk elements that are forked in with dream pop, glassy swirls, neo-soul, neo-classicals and a spreading jazz ambience. The variations are so subtle and seamless, so immersive and floatingly pleasant.

KKailou is the banner of singer-songwriter, Steph Dickinson. Her prominent works include Limbo” (2022) and “Songs of the Silent Years” (2019). Her fluidity and genre-bending flair is so subtle and surreal; claiming a niche that is reminiscent of Lana Del Rey in a more expansive and transcending way. Listen Now!
