After a short hiatus, Irish-born, now Perth-based Liam Naughton & The Educators have come back with a comeback song, “I WANT TO GO OUT TONIGHT”. As the soft acoustic initiates the track, it slowly elevates with an echoing chorus and develops into a soft-rock piece. The track carries the energy of feeling the compulsion to break free from distress. To feel the elation of one’s own spirit. To feel renewed and rooted in Self.

“I WANT TO GO OUT TONIGHT” is a story of a woman who, after a heartbreak, wishes to rebound into aliveness. The song is one of self-determination to be free from the dooming sadness of an end to a romantic relationship. The lyrics talk about how she dresses up, puts on make-up, wears her cute heels, and fishnet stockings to feel the mood. Only this time, she does all of that for herself. She wants to take back the power lost in a failed relationship and to be in control of her own life once again. Liam singing this song in the first person makes the story of a woman rising back a statement.
