9 o’clock Nasty keep the groove locked with indie rock excess, “Lee Iacocca”

Iconic biographies come from iconic bands. 9 o’clock Nasty are the band that made me write this, and it applies only to them. Pardon me, but I’m not going back on my words like ChatGPT. This time, the infamous trio are giving us a soundtrack for Lee Iacocca. What a drive he’s had.

If you don’t know about the man, read about him. If you don’t want to, listen to this song. This track in a nutshell is the nutcase that this Ford executive was and the kind of lasting impact he’s had on this big dumb blue marble. If you thought that was impressive, he went on and revived Chrysler as well. If no one wrote this spearhead for their theme track, what a tragedy it could be? So the mischievous musketeers sat to write. And it was special.

The echoing drum instantly snatches your attention span; the lyrical delivery is diabolical. Small frills and additions like a soap opera filter add themselves through the quick rhymes. It wouldn’t matter if you didn’t know anything about the song or the person. Just one listen and you’re a fan of both. We both know I mean it.

9 o’clock Nasty closed 2025 with some smashing numbers, one of their most productive years on record. Along with getting shitfaced, the boys seem to have dragged out at least 20% of their potential and given us some hits. Looks like they’re going to go ahead and give us some more. We’re all Lee Iacocca.
