Pennan Brae is an artist that tries to challenges time with respect to music. His sound is unique, not for the tonal quality-but the space where it belongs. He has great instrumentality, the artists he is responsible collaborating with have had legendary pasts and his music videos are fun to watch. The vibe is similar for Night Crawling, Pennan Brae’s new single.
With a funky guitar necklace that brings about a nodding groove, Night Crawling embodies the nocturnal nimbleness and playfulness that a song deserves. Pennan has made sure the groove is of utmost important, constantly highlighted in turns with his youthful voice. Lingering long after the song has ended, it brings about the swing of the Heartbreakers, and Brae’s lyrics strive for Petty’s greatness.
The Pixies chord structure is a highlight as well, making it a pop-punk utopia that should have lasted.
