J Lewis focuses on the words, the rhymes. Let what he wrote glitter. His new album POV is out now, and No Tears No Tissues is the track on the list for today. With a fresh outlook and new perspective, he gains strength on how to move forward, and encourages you to do so too.
J Lewis has been testing the waters and making considerable ripples since 2018. He started off with Silver Linings, and through the years we see the perspective shift, the songs becoming more mature. Honing his natural skill for putting out poignant verses, J. Lewis also makes sure the track has the charisma it needs. Finding a solid R&B hook, he also teams up with Lenice Raquel to provide some powerful, moving vocals for the chorus section.
This track reminds me of Jay-Z’s collaborations with Beyoncé during the Vol 2 years. Imbibing the spirit of change and the hustle that follows being a cultural icon, this artist too has taken serious notes, to heart. Discarding sympathy, the track makes for a catchy number while delivering a powerful prose with precision. This album has other great tracks as well, like the opener, My Shoes and For A Bag. Lewis seems to have collaborated artists for the passion and challenge of altering his style and finding his edge.
