Chris Sloan – Where Do I Stand | Partnership

Where Do I Stand from Chris Sloan is a refreshingly genuine and heartfelt break-up song, but it is far from cheesy or cliche. It navigates through that confusing and confounding swirl of emotions that follows right after things fall apart. There is uncertainty to the wishes of one’s partner, and the weight of sorrow in the heart is heavy. Nevertheless, the song offers the other party authority: to have a say in what comes next – distance or tedious resolution.

Chris Sloan has been performing since the age of merely eighteen. This Seattle-based musician has been the frontman of many very successful musical outfits. This includes Mercy Parker, Sidedown, and Mudsill Widows where he made music with the drummer, Ben Smith, from Rock β€˜n Roll Hall of Fame band Heart.

The song has a folksy, acoustic Americana vibe which is a soft contrast to the singer’s raspy vocals. Additionally, the hopeful violin and the song’s openness about the emotions make it very accessible to the listeners. Moreover, Where Do I Stand is a very special song given it is also the first single from Chris Sloan’s first solo EP. This soon to release project is titled ‘Into The Shade’. The album has been written and recorded at the legendary Bear Creek Studios located in Woodinville, Washington. In that way, the song is the opening to the promising musician’s first-ever solo project – a prelude if you will.
