Three albums already in, one might expect Kaydon Juan to settle into the riches of his musical empire and bask in his glory days. One would be wrong, because Kaydon Juan seems to only just be getting started.
Following the release of three widely acclaimed full-length albums Don Juan da Vinci, Splash Bros Vol. 2 and Enigma, Kaydon dives back into his discography with his latest 2021 track Violence Pt. II — a tightly-orchestrated trip-hop cypher highlighting some of the artist’s latest maxims. Juan seems entirely up-to-date with the latest musical inclusions and techniques of the contemporary trap-beat embellished hip-hop industry, as he opens up the track with suspended synth waves and almost vocoded neo-soul vocal showboating.
The lyrics, in themselves, operate as a form of self-declaration to the world about Juan’s pursuits in the new year, as he befittingly responds to his naysayers and rivals in a ridiculously humorous element. Despite his relatively nascent status in the genres he has chosen for himself, Kaydon Juan delivers cyphers in an impeccable stick-it-to-the-man tempo and conviction, making him a key player to look out for in the reshuffling of actors in the hip-hop music industry.
