Proklaim brings his signature motif, a blend of reggaeton with feel-good positive themes in hip-hop on his latest single, “For You”, exploring new styles of rapping with a fresher-than-ever flow. Keep reading for my thoughts!
The first thing that stands out to you when you start listening to “For You” is the all-new flow that Proklaim brings into his music. Faster and sharper than ever, his rhyming takes the definition of speed and flow to new heights in his music, putting him up here with the most skilled rhyme artists out there. There is a lot of articulation in his rhymes, and they all weave together seamlessly to create an effortless, but by no means technically unsound performance.

The production plays quite an important role here, too, with Proklaim’s signature reggaeton, uptempo sampling work and percussion making a comeback— and the beat keeps the song swimming along quite nicely, adding depth to the vocal layers and giving the main vocals ever that much more boost. There is also much to appreciate about the energy and mood dynamic here, with the energy never once dropping below mercury, while the listener is met with more and more layering that adds whole dimensions to the mix.
The mix and master are another standout on “For You”, with excellent control of the mids and highs, especially hard to get right in a song with so much high-end energy going on with the percussion and the vocal layering— but I’m glad to report that it’s been pulled off in swathes of poise here— with great control and use of space, and with a neutral, friendly sound that would sound good no matter what device you’re listening on.
In conclusion: “For You” by Proklaim marks an evolution, a steady leap in the right direction for Proklaim as an up-and-coming artist— and it intrigues the listener to enquire what truly he will have for us next. Check out the track here!
