“Oxiroma” is the moniker of a multi-faceted creator blending talents as a composer, arranger, sound designer, and video editor. With a musical journey starting at age 12, he once trumpeted in a jazz big band. Since 1998, Oxiroma has been deeply engaged in studio collaborations, crafting arrangements, producing recordings, curating performances, and compiling CDs featuring diverse vocalists and musicians. This whole track is an idyllic journey through lush landscapes of sound spanning the whole of a conventional classical orchestra, with some elements from the modern era— from the expansive pads and strings that make the first few measures, we’re taken along on the actual melody by a duet between the piano and the harp, while the strings in the background steadily pick up flair and drama, further accentuated by the woodwinds. There is exceptionally great use of elements here, each contributing to their own little pocket of sound that somehow still finds itself one with the bigger picture; and oh, is said picture big.

The production is what I allude to; with a sound seemingly wider than description, wafty reverbs that have a floating, almost surreal quality, to the subtle layering of the pianos to create more power and drive in the production, everything about “Ascetic Dream” is a dream,,, come true— and it’s executed far beyond an a-plus.
There is not much one can learn in the way of critical observations about this track, for it is an experience best left interpreted by the listener; and no matter the kind of listener that one may be, this piece has something great, something epic and beyond for you to stare at, your eyes awonder and your senses afire. Easy two-thumbs-up! Check out the track here:
