IOMANI has just released his latest EP “I Will Die With You”. These are hypnotic tracks with a staccato bass packed beat that pulls the listener along. It seems like a kick and bass focused track as you listen. This kind of music is really interesting, as the vocals act as the ambience for the track. They don’t take the center stage but the vocals are still cohesive.
IOMANI is the sonic rendition of Joshua Reynolds from Perth in Australia. He has been inspired mainly by American rap styles such as – Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Yacthy, Lil Peep and even Lil Aaron. This EP has been recorded surprisingly in his own home studio which he claims is still under progress! Music really is the meaning of his life.
This EP consists of two tracks – “I Will Die With You” and a remix of “Always on My Mind”. The first track “I Will Die With You” is a cerebral track that has really catchy lyrics. Montel Moore, an American singer has lent his voice for both these tracks. His voice is hypnotic and the lyrics are cleverly written. “Music is the meaning of my life; Shes my life”. The chorus is really addicting and the track picks up pace throughout the first track until the bassline takes over and the track takes a primal turn. The relentless kick and bass make this a very danceable track that can do very well in clubs! The track is inspired from Joshua’s personal experience with the dating and hookup scene combined with mental health issues during his experience with COVID-19.
The second track is a remix of “Always on My Mind”. This time, the track is deftly produced with a more radically invigorating beat that is amazingly uplifting. The lyrics and vocals are more seductive this time around with a strong bassline. The track has lush sounds that make it endlessly playable and really entertaining.
Overall his latest EP is deftly produced with emotionally rich lyrics. A very enigmatic EP that can be played over and over due to its hypnotic nature. Give it a listen:
