A Quiet Farewell Lingers in GatiS’s Remember Me. Theme

Latvian-based composer and producer GatiS has been immersed in music since childhood, improvising on the piano at age four and performing with the popular children’s vocal ensemble Knīpas un knauķi. Inspired by theatre, classical music, and synth-pop acts like Depeche Mode, he later co-founded the 1990s pop duo Duets DIVI. Their debut album Spēle went on to become Latvia’s best-selling pop release, establishing GatiS as a notable figure in the country’s music scene.

Since then, after years of composing privately, he has returned with a renewed creative vision. In 2024, he founded the independent label Green Amber Music to bring his unreleased work to life. Most recently, he released his latest instrumental single, Remember Me. Theme, on 1 August 2025, marking a new chapter in his evolving neoclassical journey.

Musically, the track opens with a quiet, reflective piano melody that brings a sense of departure. I picture a grey, overcast sky, packed bags, the city slowly slipping away as you gaze out the rain-streaked window one last time. In that moment, all the memories you ever made begin to surface like stills from a black-and-white camera roll.
