Nikho, the artist alias of producer and musician, Robert Nikho, is a Chicago-based DJ and electronic music producer who started in the EDM scene around 2008. Self-taught in DJing and music production, he has played at major clubs and festivals, sharing stages with top artists like Kaskade and John Summit. With his energetic sets and mixing skills that have shot him to the limelight, he presents one of his original singles, “Enough” — keep reading for my thoughts!
Adopting a hard house slash techno sound that incorporates influences from a wide variety of sounds and styles, “Enough” is the kind of track that will get you moving from the get go. Kick this track on, and the tempo immediately settles you into an energetic shuffle, while the arpeggiated synths and the potent bass line hold the energy of the track together effortlessly. As the energy builds with the track, Nikho makes use of the evolution in the percussion and the basses to gently wade his listeners into the drop — and when the bass does drop, the flow is steady, the energy is sweltering, and the production immaculate.
Over the course of “Enough”, we see some rather skilled vocal sampling techniques at play, which introduce welcome variety into the sound design, all aimed at making this a firework of a listen. The drops are steady, and the aggressive synths that support the minimal vocal-chop sound in the drops and the buildups add to the energy and the atmosphere even further, raising your heart rate to just right.
The hallmark of a minimal techno house track like “Enough” is the mix — and the atmosphere that the mix is able to bring with it; and I’m glad to report that this track gets it right on all counts — be it the switches into the drops, or the gentle risers and exhausts that dot the whole production, to the chops with the basses, everything about this track is about the energy — and let me note, there’s not much that stops you from hearing this in the club and moving to the rhythm before you notice it.

All in all, “Enough”, by Nikho — there’s quite the shot of adrenaline to look forward to when you listen to this track — and before you know it, you’re either hitting repeat as a listener, or loop as a DJ; and there’s nothing in between. Take a listen to the track here!
