‘Crazy’ by HODD: a Vibrant Rock Song Filled with Optimism, Love and Promise

‘Crazy’ by HODD is a bright, feel-good rock song about second chances and optimistic, hopeful promises. The song’s instrumental features guitars playing simple, catchy melodies under lyrics that take on a tone that is simultaneously optimistic and grateful.

The instrumental is bright, with sweeping guitars and rhythmic percussion, that helps that song flow and injects it with vibrant optimism. The track is led in by a catchy guitar melody that comes back after every chorus, keeping the song’s breezy brightness at its centre.

‘Crazy’: Optimism and Promise in Love

‘Crazy’ sounds link an ode of sorts to someone who has changed the singer’s life forever. He seems to use the song to express his gratitude for them, while promising to make their lives better than it is at that moment. “…I swear…I’ll change our lives someday…”.

This person has made the singer’s life better.

“…I’ve been a ghost and I’ve been a faded light,

You’ve made my world change and

I’m gonna come rolling back…”

Though the song looks ahead to the future with more optimism than it seemed to have before, its refrain wants to ground that happiness back to the present. This is evident in the lines of its refrain:

“…Let’s go crazy, crazy for tonight.

…crazy to see what we can find…

…Head out to the lake, to take a swim.

Go moonlight diving and see what we can find…”

‘Crazy’ reiterates its gratitude and love for the person being addressed throughout.

“…Hey now lover,

You’ve been a friend to me,

My greatest company…”.

This while making sure to reiterate that he will make their lives better.

“…I swear to you I’ll change our loves today,

We’re getting out…doing it my way…”

All in all, ‘Crazy’ by HODD is a summery rock song filled to the brim with optimism, love and gratitude. It looks to the future while grounding itself in the present with the promise in its lyrics and light breeziness in its instrumentation.

The song makes for a feel-good, easy listen.
