Sergiy Rybytskyy, a neo-classical composer drawn to the piano at the age of seven, pursued his musical journey akin to the relentless pursuit in “The Tell-Tale Heart” by Edgar Allan Poe. Influenced by the likes of J.S. Bach and Krzysztof Penderecki, his original and refined sound shines through quite brilliantly on “Battle”– keep reading for my thoughts!
The sound of absolute madness starts right from the first second of the song, where a screaming guitar ascends and descends through scales like it is all child’s play; and once we’ve been mind-blown with that, we settle into the main thematic content of “Battle”, which is presented in a neo-classical metal style, with instruments such as the keyboard and rhythm guitars playing. apt support roles.
There are melodies and counter-melodies; positive and negative harmonies; and they all come together with this speedy, power-metal sound that immediately made me think of this as a Dragonforce track with all its emotional complexity in the face of power, speed and aggression in presentation.

The production plays a huge part in the overall sound of “Battle”– with the sound design being done excellently well, and the melodic and harmonic content of the song, as well, coming together in great agreement, to create an amazing, congruent sound that does only get better the more you listen to it. The mix is tight, and the instruments sit very well together indeed, with quite the amount of delicacy. There is great use of the soundstage, with the stereo field being full of drama, happening, and interest throughout the runtime of this track.
