Barry Muir’s New Indie Pop Single “There You Were” Is A Melodic Ode to Unexpected Love

Barry Muir’s musical adventure began in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, and has taken him on an unbelievable journey. In his early twenties, he made the bold move to Vancouver, BC, where he became a member of Canada’s emerging rock sensation, the Payola$. Their smash tune “Eyes Of A Stranger” dominated the airways, earning them two Juno awards in 1983. His musical journey continued when he joined Barney Bentall and the Legendary Hearts, with whom he collaborated on another Canadian song, “Something To Live For,” which earned him yet another Juno award. Barry Muir’s remarkable contributions to the Canadian music scene are nothing short of legendary.

Barry Muir’s latest track, “There You Were,” is a refreshing dive into the world of indie pop with a pleasant early 2000s vibe. With its cheerful riffs and vibrant yet not overwhelming beats, the song is like a melodic breeze. Barry’s vocals are amazing, continually filling the song with joy, and the choir-like chorus adds an almost divine touch. The song reaches a climax with an exquisite electric guitar solo. The song encouraged me to take a moment to appreciate life and find serenity.
