Amara-Fe - Look in the Mirror
Amara-Fe - Look in the Mirror

Amara-Fe brings powerful vocals to pop R&B number “Look in the mirror”

When you hear ‘Look in the Mirror‘, one notices that Amara-Fe does not hold back. She is a singer from Dallas, Texas, with her debut album ‘REBORN‘, out for release. She is clearly a performer who knows her strengths and wants you to feel every note. The song is firmly in the pop terrain with prominent shades of R&B.

The production mixes electronic elements with warmer analog touches like piano which gives it a familiar sound. Where Amara-Fe wins is the vocal prowess. Her voice is fearless and sometimes downright acrobatic. She runs through phrases with the kind of control that recalls Beyoncé or Alicia Keys. The production is minimal with some piano and electronic beats, and that works for this song.

Choral harmonies lift the chorus into something almost gospel like. So we’ve got solo fireworks primarily with some collective vocal weight at parts. In many ways, Look in the Mirror also shows that Amara-Fe does not need much musical clutter around her. Her voice is the star here and it carries the track with sheer force.

The vocal lines here are also worth praising. Some damn well-written vocal lines. Definitely, check this song out to be blown away by the amazing vocal melodies and the chops on display by Amara-Fe.
