Changing Tymz are here to give you the journey of rock and metal in real time. A band that has a varied palette of influences, they have created a sound which is as melodic as it is aggressive. Approaching the spectrum of emotions and stellar storytelling, they bring out their styles in this treasure trove of an album. This is their debut album, a power packed premonition called Finish the Race. It doesn’t get better than this.
Although the band has teased all this music through singles, we are in for a treat in this collection. This is where there is a story, a narrative and a purpose. A tattoo for your brain, for good reason. After the brilliant opening that creates the drama needed for a climax so strong, Changing Tymz build us the time machine we wanted to enter. The opening song is called Beyond the Realm, adopting a metal riff that is sure to melt your face. Tempos chosen are fuelled with horsepower, with all the tones making a mark on the song. Harmonics tease a lot of texture in the background, especially where the chorus is running wild.

A new metal to experience
The dark and heavy groundwork of Enslaved is a great addition to the storyline. Creating this riff might have been a real art, for it gives that mean “stank” face a heavy element carries. Vocal lines follow a path that you could not expect, while garnering energy through the time signature changes. If you wanted to pace forward with charisma, The Fear is Gone is the next single. It has a great Iron Maiden vocal delivery, while the riff keeps you wanting more.
Every instrumental pocket you get in this album has been tempered. It is crafted like fragile glasswork, with intricacy. Yet, it has been forged in fire, giving the strength of metal. Changing Tymz have found a style that pays homage to their heroes, yet details its own pedestal. There are so many deeper references to be experienced, while the incredible instrumental parts and catchy rhythms keep you hooked.
With the times, we rock
Passion is one of those riffs that will make you want to pick up the guitar. One of the best rhythm sections I have heard from any hard rock band, this has a great blend. In bringing the “prog” feel, the bass, guitars and drums act in cohesion. This will be one of those songs that jumps straight to their greatest hits album. In the Darkness adds ambience and drama to their ever-evolving sound. You can almost experience Maiden again here, moulding a unique storytelling experience.
Changing Times is the song that will detail their sound. Often, a band will write a song that doesn’t give their own name importance. Changing Tymz make sure that isn’t the case. It is a rocking number, one of their best in this collection.
Close to an hour of mesmerizing rock and metal is what we get to experience. This is the foundation of a band that will keep pushing the membrane, making a sub-genre their own. It is the kind of band we require in changing times. Follow them on their Twitter and Instagram to know more! Welcome, a new world:

Self professed metalhead, moderately well read. If the music has soul, it's whole to me. The fact that my bio could have ended on a rhyme and doesn't should tell you a lot about my personality.
