Ari Joshua paints us a dungeon with prog-rock with his latest single, “Dragons Layer”

Ari Joshua is just out there, making music. I alone have heard at least 50 songs by Ari in the past year or so. If he isn’t performing under his own name, he has other projects, a trio and quartet also. There are few indie jazz musicians who have such a stronghold in the game, and all of it to this gold standard quality. This is his latest single, Dragons Layer.

Ari Joshua is exploring territories

Performing with John Medeski, Billy Martin and Jason Fraticelli, you can expect this to be a cinematic gold mine. Ari Joshua composes this with aplomb, bringing some renaissance elements, while grooving along to it like any music fan. In the instrumental sphere, there is a lot to absorb in the mystique and action of the work. The phaser effects on the drums syncs up perfectly with the Deep Purple-ish instrumental breakdowns that vary in the spectrum. The band keeps you rapt with attention with some really brilliant elements, making this a deep dive into the dragon’s liar. If you aren’t feeling it, you aren’t imagining thoroughly enough. Ari Joshua aims to create an auditory experience for you unlike any other with his idiosyncratic ideas of composition. Don’t you dare pretend like you’ve heard things like this before.
