Apple Logic Pro 13 Features : AI Tools Level Up Music Production on Revamped DAW

Apple is preparing a major update to Logic Pro with version 13, bringing AI-powered workflow tools, enhanced drum separation and a refreshed interface to its popular digital audio workstation.

The new Logic Pro 13 features update introduces Apple’s ‘Liquid Glass’ design across Mac and iPad, featuring translucent controls, rounded edges and improved contrast in dark mode. The redesigned interface aims to make waveforms, MIDI tracks and automation lanes easier to navigate.

On Mac, a new intelligent Assistant powered by OpenAI and Apple’s own AI models will help users streamline production. Musicians can use prompts to perform tasks such as creating a new project and setting up a vocal recording channel, reducing the time spent on routine setup.

Apple has also revamped Logic Pro’s Smart Browser, making it easier to find loops, virtual instruments and effects presets. An audio analysis tool can automatically categorise and tag sounds, helping producers discover suitable samples and presets faster.

The updated Stem Splitter adds more precise drum isolation, replacement and rebalancing capabilities without requiring access to the original multitrack recordings. The feature could prove especially useful for sample-based production, remixing and refining drum overheads in a mix.

The update forms part of Apple’s broader Creator Studio subscription expansion, with new tools designed to make music production more accessible and efficient.

Pricing and availability: Logic Pro 13 will arrive next month as a free update for existing users, while new users can purchase it for $199 through the Apple App Store.
