Renowned film composer Danny Elfman is embroiled in yet another scandal as a 47-year-old Maryland woman steps forward with disturbing allegations. According to reports from The Hollywood Reporter and Rolling Stone, the woman using the pseudonym Jane Doe XX, has filed a lawsuit accusing Elfman of sexual assault, gender violence, emotional distress, and negligence. Even more shocking details have emerged about Elfman’s alleged behavior, including claims of exposing himself and engaging in lewd acts.

The lawsuit alleges that the misconduct occurred between 1997 and 2002, with Doe claiming that Elfman would frequently expose his genitals, claiming it was vital for his creativity and success. Doe further alleges that Elfman would sleep naked beside her, and admits to masturbating next to her.
In response to the lawsuit, Elfman’s spokesperson dismissed the claims as “baseless and absurd,” asserting that they will vigorously defend against them legally. However, this recent lawsuit follows another one earlier this year by musician and composer Nomi Abadi, who accused Elfman of sexual harassment.
Danny Elfman started his career as frontman for the band Oingo Boingo before going on to become an Oscar winning film composer. He is a frequent collaborator with director Tim Burton having scored for films like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Alice in Wonderland, Batman, and Edward Scissorhands. He also scored for Raimi’s Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. He has composed the music for the Men in Black and Fifty Shades of Grey franchise. His popular TV series themes include Desperate Housewives and The Simpsons.
Jane Doe XX’s attorney, Jeff Anderson, has emphasized the importance of sending a powerful message to abusers who aim to silence victims. With this latest development, the spotlight is once again on Elfman, raising questions about accountability and justice in the entertainment world.
