We had the opportunity to interview Danielle about her new release and more. Read on to know more.

1.      Hey, Danielle Goz! Congratulations on your newest release, “Obvious.” The song is such a breeze, and because of your heartfelt performance, I now have an earworm! Was it always your intention to make the song this upbeat?

A: Thank you so much! I’m glad you enjoy the song it means a lot 🙂 I actually wasn’t intending for the song to be upbeat when I started the song!  It wasn’t until I finished the beat for the song that I decided I wanted to speed it up, and that’s when it all came together.

2.      How did you come up with the idea for “Obvious”? Was this song inspired in any way by your personal life?

A: Being the shy girl that I am, it can be difficult for me to tell a guy I have feelings for them, and sometimes I just wish they could read my mind. So this song was an outlet for me to just be like, “Isn’t it obvious that I want you?!”

3.      What is your favourite part about the song? Any proud aspect you’d love to share about this song?

A: My favorite part about the song is the choir towards the end of the song. I used an organ behind my vocals and stacked my voice using lots of harmonies. I then took this choir that I made out of my own voice and put it throughout the song, which you can hear in the background!

4.      What role do you think music can play in bringing people together, and how important is that to you?

A: Music can express things that words can’t. It can give people feelings that can’t be explained. When a group of people enjoy or relate to a song, it creates a really strong bond and togetherness.  A song can create so many feelings from joy to sadness, and the fact that a song can collectively make a group of people feel a certain thing is what brings people together.

5.      What are your favourite genres? Is there any genre you plan to explore and experiment with in the coming days?

A: There are so many genres I enjoy.  Some of my favorites are r&b, pop, and alt/rock. I would love to experiment with classical and jazz more and start implementing them into my songs.

6.      Do you have anything coming up in the near future that we can look forward to?

A: I have some new singles and collaborations coming out this year that I am so so excited to share with the world.

Enjoy listening to Obvious here.
