Wroht redefine their brutal death metal sound with their latest album, “Dissolution”

There is a sound that comes with Wroht that cannot be replicated. This is a band that has welded metal of different genres, stood the test of time and created a sound that redefines intensity. Their latest album called Dissolution is an ephemeral essence of what inspires the genre, how it can change and the technical complexities that are woven within. This is a good one, so stick around for the spine wrecking carnival you get.

With 8 tracks in this album- and their 8 instrumental versions, it is safe to say Wroht has returned stronger than ever. From the San Francisco Bay Area, the creative expulsion of the band has been punctuated by dissecting their relationship with the genre. While they pay respects to the giants that made them and keep the emotion alive, they are on their own route now.

Blood Prison is a very good example of how to begin a new album after a hiatus. This is where you put across your best foot forward, and its safe to say they have done so. It obliterates the silence, yet chooses melodic pockets where the sound after the quiet feels massive. There is no reliance on volume alone, but mass in what they compose. Vocals are as diabolical as ever, while precision is key, in key.

Forged in ways

The band is in the right frame of mind to reflect the imminent deep fractures of society. Wroht doesn’t oversimplify how we are caving as one, but looks at what is making us weaker. What doesn’t kill us. It is in songs like Cycle of Torment, where they can flood your ear canals with the choicest selection of heavy riffs and rhythms. They stand out in creating something inspired by Morbid Angel, inspired by the sounds of death metal that they grew up with.

Where they defy expectations is the matured sound that they transcend from before. Wroht have always been incredible, but this is a meditation in time. It is where we expect to see ourselves if we go down this path. If anything, it is foreboding messages written into incredible riffs, explosive energy and a will to show us a final form that is so much more beyond music. You see the contrast in the instrumental versions, while remembering the heavy cast of the words that you did hear. You’re on your way to degradation, so might as well dissolve in sin.
