Suicide Puppets brings brutal metal with captivating melodies with their EP, “Beyond the Veil”

You’ll find Suicide Puppets to be the models of your liking. The metal band from Pennsylvania have a lot to offer, and they bring the best from the best. There’s a reason they tour with some of the biggest names in metal, and have won accolades as best metal band as well. This should brand their demonic screams into the fragments of your skull. This is their EP, Beyond the Veil.

The relentless chug of Death Note opens the EP to mortal eyes. It has a cinematic aura to the composition, you’ll be reminded of legends like King Diamond. The melodic breakdown and chorus will leave you as rattled as emotional. Scale changes are clean and surgical, you’ll feel the switch without any of the transfusion.

To continue their assault, 1000 Ways to Die comes in next. There are intro parts that feel like groove metal, and split into some of the best thrash you’ll hear. Twisty Suicide brings his shrieking scream to the vocals with stellar quality. Gutturals have their own gravity, assisting the strafe of the percussion and riffs.

Though this is quality metal, one must wonder where all the influences come from. Suicide Puppets have chorus parts are memorable and melodic, there are parts that suck you in like a whirlpool. The band loves metal as much as one can, showing in their class artistry and compositions. You can see why they have won metal band of the year for two consecutive years. Here’s to many more to come.

Prey brings a familiar riff with a superb riff section. The percussion and guitar elements come together like a goblin out for blood. String parts make the song an orchestral entity, parts that you won’t hear metal bands use often. Suicide Puppets also have transitions are as homogenous as you could expect, with unexpected breaks into the truly captivating chorus parts.

Everyday turns blood thicker. It combines satanic modality with riff density that clouds your vision. These might be horrific to read, but are a joy for any metal band to read. The delivery has headbang-able moments that will pop your neck clean off the socket, and that’s the whole truth. No two compositions even follow the same byline, they all explore many different parts of metal efficiently. As it runs through them like the spirit of Ronnie James Dio, I am glad I found a band I can revisit whenever I want.

Sinner closes out an energetic EP that forges this band’s magnum opus. They have managed to create an enthralling EP without any filler tracks, and made one of the most entertaining collections I might hear this year. Listen to their music here and follow them for more to come. Horns up and lights out for this one!:

Self professed metalhead, moderately well read. If the music has soul, it's whole to me. The fact that my bio could have ended on a rhyme and doesn't should tell you a lot about my personality.
