‘Where Only Machines Have Been’ by WhiteRoomNightmare is an Electrifying Rock Track that Captures Juxtaposing Emotions

Where Only Machines Have Been’ by WhiteRoomNightmare is an electrifying rock track that captures the loneliness of moody isolation. Its instrumentation is loud and laced with a sharpness typical of an explosive rock tune. The soundscape even feels divided into three parts. The introduction and main melody and rhythm that dips before soaring in the end.

‘Where Only Machines Have Been’: Loneliness and Equilibrium

‘Where Only Machines Have Been’ begins loud and full, introducing the listener to the space our narrator occupies. Isolated and far from anything remotely resembling life. Our narrator even describes feeling out of touch, drifting away from life like an astronaut loosely tethered to their ship.

Our untethered narrator seems to find footing in their isolation. This while the sounds of the soundscape seem to whirl around them. The nature of the soundscape’s sound makes it seem as though its rhythms and lyrics are the only sounds, full and whole.

The narrator of ‘Where Only Machines Have Been’ seems to intentionally crave peace, holding onto their solitude in the face of a void that seems lonely and unforgiving. The lines seem to walk this thin tightrope between finding this sense of peace and equillibrium while also acknowledging the tether back to civilisation.

Its panic and peace, but all swirling in this dark, nebulous space that seems to balance these two juxtaposing emotions well. This space even seems to move around the emotion of the song, as it dips before soaring into an emotion that mingles with excitement and hope.

This dip and soar on ‘Where Only Machines Have Been’ by WhiteRoomNightmare inspires awe-insiring hope. This while loud, full instrumentation are played with this explosive, dynamic catharsis that feels earned and satisfying.

Electrifying, awe-inspiring, awe-inspiring and moving.
