Be prepared to get lost in the environments of theinfamoustony. This Nashville-based musician is able to craft the most detailed environments with his instrumental compositions. Each soundscape aids and tells a story; your imagination is the only limit. He painted quite the escape for me with his latest album called Emergence. You’re in for a treat of a lifetime.
Opening with the title track, it is the bright guitar tone and ambience that mimic the rays of the sun. Like the album art you can stare at when you listen to this song, there is an incipience or beginning theinfamoustony is able to create with this music. Chord progressions come in slowly, creating a percussion in the way the rhythm is played in itself. The melody eventually becomes familiar, and in that we find a sudden break to find a different kind of arpeggio. Sound design is intense; the stage is set to be wide and open like this environment you can observe and absorb.
Instrumental flow and essence
Like the album Blankets from last year-end, theinfamoustony is able to mirror the mood of the season and structure about him with deep thought. It is truly honing in on a feeling, while layers grow, fade and mirror the organic movements of life. Windows Down instantly takes you along this road trip, feeling the natural breeze and emotive, changing landscape. I like how the opening sounds like a radio playing the sound as the layers come in and add that unpredictable time signature, like the dynamic weather and picturesque scenery surrounding us.
A cinematic break comes in immediately after Windows Down. Intermission #8 feels personal, yet equally expressive and universal at the same time. The strums are gentle; the fingerpicking style makes for a rich, baroque background your attention completely turns to. When the lead comes in, you’re shown another narrative within the melody. A Flourish Of Spores comes in next, beckoning with that floral instinct you get because of the name itself. The piano notes are resplendent; they almost represent a field full of poppies that you can smell from beyond the screen. This becomes one of the songs with solid percussion, a tale we have been taken on a journey on by theinfamoustony to sit with in this moment.
Picturesque flow through notes
The guitar notes reverberate with just the right frequency; the song builds to a rich and complex narrative while having the relatable loop somewhere etching itself in our minds. Emergence is quite an experience to have; listening to it in one continuous play will unlock a lot of visual drama while constructing a beautiful narrative. It is cinematic in how it aids your thoughts while still creating a whirlwind of original visuals and aesthetics. theinfamoustony continues his journey in making immersive music for us all:
