The Mars McClanes want to write songs that mean something to you, as it does to them. Simple, effective songwriting meets in cordial fashion some melodies that artists might not explore much. Their holiday spirit Harold seems to have made it out of the basement for this jolly number. This song is called December Songs.
There is that simple thump of a beat that goes along with warmth in this song. It feels like a musician on a cajon, by a fireplace, singing this beautiful tune. It captures the entire holiday season in the month it is, in a song. The lyrics bring the same joy and mirth the spirit of Christmas brings, while also making some beautiful transitions and symphonic choices. You could pick up your guitar right now and try. However, I don’t think you’ll sound as good as The Mars McClanes. It is the kind of energy you need to be having during this welcoming season where everyone comes together. Harmonies and flourishes take the tone of the lead, of the chorus and bring it home to us one more time. The Liar musicians make this another one of their lists of hits, and it seems to be growing pretty quick.
The Mars McClanes are writing indie folk and pop rock with their own flavour and zing. Maybe that is why, nothing else sounds like this band, and they don’t try sounding like anyone else. Listen to their heart-warming single here with us!:
