Punctuated with gentle pianos and clean electric guitars, the soundscape is vast open from the very start of the song. The pianos are poignant and emotive, shining with how the parts are written — and when the vocals announce themselves gently, there’s pure bliss you’d encounter. Cormac’s gentle timbre when he effortlessly slides over and through registers and vocal styles is a thing of beauty to listen to, not once fading throughout the runtime of the track. Add to this the gentle counter-melodies that the electric guitars contribute, and “The Joker And The Queen” is a timeless listen that only ages like wine.
