The number of chances a human life gets to self-reflect is innumerable. Sometimes one picks up the hint early and sometimes understanding takes years to unfold. ‘Tell Me’ by UK-based singer-songwriter Kkaiou is a song about self-searching and the journey she took.

Kkailou is the name of the creative project of songwriter and vocalist Steph, who is from Margate, UK. Born with music in her soul, Steph is a multi-talented artist. She started writing songs when she was 12 years old and plays the piano and guitar. Kkailou has now been a year-long initiative by Steph to start composing and releasing her music out into the world.
The sound tailoring of the song ‘Tell Me’ is very interesting. The fast-track electronic pop composition has quite a dialectical relationship with the lyrics of the song. “Sitting in the same spot, the morning light sinking into the skin, getting the space to breathe in deeply” is a slow-paced regenerative process of waking up to the aliveness of life. Steph’s voice is a powerhouse of emotions and her songwriting is very real and intimate. The line, “always waiting for a lightning moment, all I needed was the courage to say, no”, portrays the depth of her truth.
