Pronto Valid, hailing from Chicago, IL, is an Alternative Hip-Hop artist known for his distinct sound, blending diverse musical elements across genres with expressive and descriptive lyrics. The song starts off slow, with the pads in the background keeping you steady company till Pronto pulls up his socks; and once the rapping starts, there really is no going back. Switching seamlessly between triplet flows and straight-fours, he dances all over the beat. It’s all here– great rhyming, beat cuts, micro time, all of it. Technically, the verses are written really, really well to the T– and that reflects in the fact that I was concentrating lesser on anything else, but the rhyming as I found my head involuntarily bobbing to the rhythm.

Speaking of the rhythm, the beat does a great job keeping time, giving the listener a great home base; not like Pronto makes you need one, anyway; his rhyming stays impressively tight, and around the bars; while the synths in the background make their presence known rather well, adding dimension and depth that I quite appreciated. The low-end rumbles in your head, adding the perfect amount of roundness in the sound.

There are also fun easter eggs that one would pick up on, when they listen to “TEAM” a little more closely; like the vocal sampling happening in the second verse, and the beautiful counter-melody in the same verse, that evolves into a persistent theme till the end of the song.
In conclusion, “TEAM” by Pronto Valid is sure a fun listen, that has its own share of technical impressiveness; and it gets my two-thumbs-up recommendation. Check out the song here!
