Eva Nordell, a Swedish songwriter, made her debut as an artist in 2019 under the alias Eva No. Her musical path has been heavily impacted by great performers such as Iggy Pop, David Bowie, and Prince, the artistry of whom has left a lasting mark on her work. She is also inspired by modern artists such as Amy Winehouse and Lana Del Rey, whom she admires not only for their songwriting abilities but also for their distinct and vivid artistic expressions.

Eva No’s new EP, “Stainless Steel,” consists of five songs, the first of which is the self-titled “Stainless Steel.” This song is an incredible banger, sassy, lively, and produced to perfection. It also has a pleasant nostalgic vibe to it. It straight away draws you in with shimmering synths and thunderous drums. I was on the edge of my seat, completely engrossed in the rhythmic beauty of it all. The song’s steady build is nothing short of magnificent, with an intense instrumental backing, an engaging chorus, and vocals that carry an excellent combination of mystery and sass. Eva No effortlessly creates a playful yet enigmatic atmosphere, making this track a standout opener for the EP.

The second song, “Beautiful Baby Girls,” plays out like a thriller scenario and is wrapped in mystery. You remain on the edge of your seat by the background music, which comprises synths, beats, and bass. The chorus and other musical components take the song to a whole new level. This is where the song reaches its pinnacle of excellence. What distinguishes the song is its underlying tone of perseverance. A vibrant addition to the EP, “Beautiful Baby Girls” skillfully combines vintage and modern music elements.
