Shabazz the Disciple emerged from Wu-Tang Clan’s extended family, making his mark first through collaborations before carving his own path. After a standout appearance on Gravediggaz’s ‘6 Feet Deep’ in 1994 and the thought-provoking single “Death Be the Penalty,” his solo journey faced delays when GZA Entertainment folded. Undeterred, he co-founded Sunz of Man with Killah Priest, though he departed before their 1998 debut. His own album, ‘The Book of Shabazz (Hidden Scrollz),’ finally dropped in 2003 on Battle Axe Records. While maintaining connections with Sunz of Man and Killah Priest, Shabazz continues to release solo material, carrying forward the intellectual tradition of Wu-Tang’s extended universe.
Shabazz the Disciple’s new single “Chant Down Babylon,” featuring Ed Nodz, is a smooth blend of hip-hop and R&B that hits all the right notes. The track rides on a foundation of groovy keys and introspective synths, creating a soundscape that’s both contemporary and nostalgically retro.

The steady rhythm creates an irresistible head-nodding effect, while the collaboration with Ed Nodz adds another layer of depth to the track’s already rich composition.
