‘Snug As a Gun’ by Ratyński is a two part instrumental guitar track that feels as though its in constant, tremulous motion. Plucking guitar melodies keep the listener on edge, hanging on to every note as the rhythm and cadence builds and breaks off.
This seemingly creating a moody tension that is able to hold its audience, on skill and minimal melodies alone.

‘Snug As a Gun’: Intense Build
‘One Minute Dance’ sets the tone for the song proper, with its short run time and running, plucking melodies that builds in heavy loops. The mood the track seems to set up is deep, dark and kinetic.
‘Snug As a Gun’ holds onto that energy, while giving those plucked notes directionality and a solid narrative. It feels as though the melodies on the song utilise the instrument fully, moving constantly to create a sense quickness that is sharp. This with an intensity that builds and builds, without fully letting up.
There’s a moment in the track’s climax where the minimal melodies ramp up in intensity before the melodies pointedly break away. This before the quickly come back to center and maintain that base-line velocity (as it were).
‘Snug As a Gun’ by Ratyński captures momentum with minimal melody, doing this with quick pacing and a sense of narrative directionality.
Building, intense and skillful.
