‘Piano et violon de Noel-Remix de relaxation (Christmas Piano & Violin- Relaxation Mix)’ by Tremolo A Tiempo (Instrumental Album Review)

Piano et violon de Noel-Remix de relaxation’ by Tremolo A Tiempo is a sweeping instrumental that’s a relaxing medley of piano-violin melodies. Each song seems to capture every colour, every mood that the Christmas Spirit evokes.

We move from fast-paced and lilting to deep moments of longing in just a few minutes. Every melody seems to lilt and cascade, almost like snowflakes on a bright day.

‘Piano et violon de Noel’: Track-by-Track

‘Piano et violon de Noel’: ‘Rouge’- ‘Blanc’

‘Rouge’ introduces the listener to sound that’s peppy with a tinge of longing. Lively violin melodies, that evoke a waltz-like rhythm, pulse over descending pianos that seem to ground the violin. It introduces to moments of dark and light present throughout the album’s soundscape.

The song sets up the album’s dynamic, allowing both instruments a few bars to shine in a seemingly seamless duet.

‘Vert’ is a bright energetic track, characterised by light, quick-paced piano melodies that seem glide over the album’s soundscape. There’s a sense of brightness to the track that feels like a cascading trickle.

‘Blanc’ introduces us to a sound that’s a bit darker. Less of a cascade and more of a constant flow. The song feels fit for a dance, with strings descending while piano melodies accent these flowing notes. The melodies hold you in their longing.

‘Piano et violon de Noel’: ‘Jaune’- ‘Noir’

‘Jaune’ holds onto this sense of longing, with deeper strings and accents of harp melodies. The song captures a deep sadness that’s beginning to settle, almost like sediment at the bottom of a lake.

‘Or’ takes this mood, and adds tentative lilting pianos that seem to realise this sense of deep longing. This settling is this realisation setting in before the melodies in this song solidify it almost. The violin comes in with this lovely melody that helps smooth out a mood characterised by sharp pain.

‘Noir’ is a short interlude that sounds structured and staged with this sense of poise. The piano melodies seem played in staccato, while evoking this bright mood.

‘Piano et violon de Noel’: ‘Rose’- ‘Dore’

‘Rose’ seems to introduce stirring violin melodies that feel expansive, building this with subtle piano melodies. The song captures mixed-emotions, with some light string melodies evoking fleeting hope, while darker notes evoke longing sadness.

The two sounds call to eachother while then piano holds them in this suspended sense of rhythm (almost). There’s even a bit of cautious optimism present throughout.

‘Argent (se Noel)’ is a cascading and quick-paced track that holds onto this solid baseline, flowing from moment to moment with this bittersweet sense of heartache. This moment of bitter acceptance and repressed unease. The string melodies glide while the hold down.

The final track on the album ‘Dore’ resolves every emotion into this almost mismatched mood. Now moments of lilting hope and dark longing have settled, with a cascading melody pulling these desperate themes and emotions together. There’s this semi-unsteady sense of security, tinged with hesitant longing.

However, this final song seems to end on this bright note that feels almost optimistic.
