An electro-pop artist based out of England, The New Citizen Kane is no stranger to experimenting with textures and sounds to make music — and on his latest single, “I Don’t Need To Say”, he teases his upcoming album, Psychedelika Pt.1 — and how does this look fare? Keep reading for my thoughts!
“I Don’t Need To Say” shines as a synth pop track with sky-high synths and soaring energy from the word go — with a lush, ethereal synth sound marking the cornerstone of this production, the rest of the elements with sparkly synths quickly build upon the atmosphere, with a nice deep-house-esque twist towards the middle of the track. The production is, overall, very tasteful, and energetic in its very right.

There is also much to appreciate about the lyricism and the vocals on “I Don’t Need To Say”, with Kane exploring soft, intimate themes about falling in love — and as he employs his glittery energy to the sound, that reflects in the vocal delivery too — perfectly set in the mix, the singing is also one of the highlights of this track.
There’s much to appreciate about the mix and master of the track, which do a bang up job of capturing the energy of this track. From the vocal to the synths in the background, the mix has space for all — and beckons the listener to come listen closer. The music video stands out for its artistic quota as well, and showcases the bold experimentalism that Kane is quickly forging his name for. The hype is high for Psychedelika Pt 1, as “I Don’t Need to Say” sets the stage in the best ways possible.
