The blues attack of The Brazilians should be considered illegal. Not because it’s what will get you on the floor to enjoy rock n roll, but because you hear their love for this music. Pack your very small suitcase and hop on the Greyhound to Queensland, home of these blues lovers. Their new single is Waiting (For Rock n Roll to Come Around).
Which is a misleading title of course. They aren’t waiting anymore, they’ve taken charge. With the Stones still touring and reminding people that this music can never die, pockets of musicians like this form their own flow. The local blues twang is humming from their strings, the riff is identifiable and widely used. Yet, I can’t not hear this riff and want to groove to the rich blues sound that they offset.
I recently heard Eric Gales and Joe Bonamassa face off. It melted my mind, two talented guitarists going at it from every angle. The Brazilians don’t showcase guitar virtuoso tendencies, their idea is very simple. Help rock n roll thrive, and rock n roll to do it. This is a single from their new album Black Wolf. But these guys have rock in their bone marrows. Their last album Delta was chock-full of great riffs and rock pleasure for all music lovers. Their new album is a new step, new direction-but still classic rock.
