Giant and the Georges know how to spell out your dreams. If you desire a clean acid trip, their groovy yet permeable songs should be on the top of your playlist. With simple compositions and memorable lyrics and chorus sections, it’s no wonder their music is catching on fast. Their latest single is Maybe Baby.
The song begins with the gentle chimes on the guitar like a Cranberries track. The verse section also has a similar build, while it slowly fuses into what Weezer would compose for their chorus. The rhythm is undeniable, it is a slow but well paced, spaced out garland of notes. No instrument tries to steal the spotlight, they all just dissolve into one giant cosmic sonic monolith. It is exciting to hear this edge from them after their success with their 2021 EP, Don’t You Know.
Sunflower Girl might have been the track that kicked them into the stratosphere, but they’re making better music now. There is an audio quality that is undeniably theirs, they can go from sounding like The Verve to parts of the Pyschic Ills. There is a wide range for this dynamic band that is always trying new sounds. Listen to Giant and the Georges here, with their latest single bringing the wizardry to you:
