Roni Amir feels each song has its own master. In instrumentals, it’s him. Vocals are featured artists from all across the globe. Sometimes he is inspired by a voice, sometimes his song seeks another partner. For this new single, he partners with Lone Wolfe, a fantastic singer with unbelievable range and a strong voice. This one is called Old Song.
There are many parts of the song I could pick apart, for how good it is. Roni Amir uses a funky, pop beat which could have turned this into great hip-hop as well. Lone Wolfe changes the thematic, chalking up a new schematic. Her voice takes control of the narrative, and though titled Old Song, it dances between several themes and chances. There are synth flourishes in the background along with a catchy bass line that will pass you by. Why? Sometimes there’s so much going on, a naive critic like me also has to just sit back and enjoy this roller coaster.
Falling off the leaves, Letting go and Along the way are 3 other singles he’s released this year. After a break post 2019, he has done quite the job, letting the insight of a pandemic give a flutter to his wing of sound. These tracks are a fresh approach-though the quality remains sacrosanct to this producer and musician.
