Lara de Belder-It’s All Over |

For what sounds like the remnant of Great Gig in the Sky by Pink Floyd, It’s All Over is just the beginning. Lara de Belder is a fantastic vocalist with a great natural voice, and this is just the beginning of the review. Many kind, true words are yet to come.

If you’ve been a fan of Allanah Myles’ great blues experiences, you know how important a vocalist is to a song within the blues spectrum. Lara uses a great simple melody that Clapton could solo over, but in this song at least, she isn’t a guitar god. She however does have the ability to channel divinity through her voice, and does so with profound ease. The chorus section allows her to ascend to an alluring crescendo with no strain in her voice. I think we’re looking at 5 octave range here.

As for the instrumentals, they’re stellar to say at the least. The saxophone complements her silky voice that glides above the music, and really claims the forefront on occasions. The grand piano is a classic background for a track of tis flavour, the arpeggio during the chorus something that I really liked. The jazz fusion moments are what makes this sound special. You’ll know its not hype when you hear her songs Overtime & Turn it Over as well.

Cut through the noise and enjoy some well crafted melody here:

Self professed metalhead, moderately well read. If the music has soul, it's whole to me. The fact that my bio could have ended on a rhyme and doesn't should tell you a lot about my personality.
