Patriot is the latest release from Cormac Looby. It is a warm love confession that is very welcome on a cold November afternoon. A folksy tune, it uses instruments like the accordion, acoustic guitars, the violin, and some distortion as well. And then the humility and ingenuity of the lyrics is another thing. The most memorable part of the song Patriot is the distinguished violin melody. This pairs romantically with the lyrics which uncover the singer’s Irish identity, and his qualities of honesty and trustworthiness. With the same patriotism, he offers himself to his lover. While his eyes give away all of his truths, he also keeps every promise that he makes. Furthermore, a gentle acoustic riff accompanies his confessions of his shortcomings and fears.
Finally, Patriot by Cormac Looby is a combination of hauntingly beautiful tunes and the artist’s incredible story-telling — it’s a massive hit in my books. The musician’s heartfelt musical style comes with introspective storytelling, and folksy acoustics. In conclusion, it is impossible to not adore. Now based out of Galway, he has already enamoured audiences in Manchester, UK. With his EP soon scheduled for release sometime in 2022, he is a young musician to look out for.
