POLYDRIVE – Favorite Band | Bedroom Future Bass

Tulsa, Oklahoma-based electronic-pop duo, POLYDRIVE are out with their latest single titled, “Favourite Band”.  Formed by brothers Cam and Cole Tessier, they started putting out music in early 2020 and this is their fourth release since. The track explores relationships and breakups using the concept of falling in love with a band and the experiences associated with that feeling through emotive and relatable lyrics.

The bedroom-pop track begins with a melancholic yet uplifting progression that sets the vibe of the track.“Favorite Band” features a future bass sound with a lot of energetic drops and electronically rich sections that are filled with big instrumentation. The vocals fit in well in the sonic space and feature very different and distinct tones in the first and final verses.

“…and then I met you I showed you every single song I knew, we fell in love with traffic through the town with their album on repeat / But now that we don’t talk it hurts to hear their songs, I guess I lost them too, cause they just make me think of you”

POLYDRIVE has used a really nice analogy and the lyrics are written really well. Paired with the common four-chord loop progression, the track is easy to listen to, danceable and head-bangable at the same time! This track is a good example of how sad lyrics can be turned into a hard-hitting song that rids you of frustrations while moving you at the same time, and POLYDRIVE has done just that.

Known best for their releases “Not Me Anymore” and “Need You To Want Me”, the duo has already amassed a respectable fan following in a short time. With their latest release, they will surely draw more listeners in and I believe their excellent song-writing and production skills are bound to take them far in the indie music scene!
