Joshua Lloyd – Heartless | Compelling Punk

London UK Pop punk/rock artist Joshua Llyod has come up with a compelling brand new single titled Heartless. Joshua has been in the hip-hop scene and is a prolific rapper. With his fiery single White Lies earlier this year and the dazzling EP Sick When I Wake Up, he took a move to the pop punk and rock direction. With catchy riffs and hummable melodies and tight drum beats, Joshua Lloyd has been treating us to some music that one cannot stop spinning.

The single artwork cover consists of a cartoon of Joshua holding a literal, not symbolic heart. His shadow behind points a finger gun at his head. What a way to make a point!

The song begins with a relatable and sweet clean guitar riff. We then get some electronic beats as the heartfelt vocals by Joshua Lloyd enter in. There are smatterings of the crunchy rhythm guitar on the chorus as Lloyd sings his heart out. The chord progression is very resolutely pleasing and gives a sense of bittersweet pain and relief as the expression over heartbreak is put out. From the electronic beats, we get a steady pocket drum beat toward the outro of the song. And the song concludes with the intro clean guitar riff.

With the emotive lyrical expression and vocals that go in synch with it, Heartless tells a relatable tale. The interesting thing with punk and rock music about heartbreak is that one sings about the sad stuff with energy and infectious power. Not something easily attainable in a different genre. With Heartless, Joshua Lloyd continues to make his mark as a tight songwriter and a musician you cannot ignore.
