Indigo FM is a band that wants to bring style, unpredictability and witty songwriting back to alternative/indie rock. Describing their music as rock ‘n’ roll(ish), the four-piece band has definitely got themselves onto something memorable. Indigo FM has already made a name for themselves with successful tracks like Anhedonia and Us Against The World. The band has one of the most Post Punk/Alternative vibe I’ve heard since, believe it or not, Drake Bell sang the opening theme to Drake & Josh. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely loved that intro.
Daffodil is a track that does such a brilliant job at engaging the listener. It sounds like something Julian Casablancas and The Strokes would be proud to perform. However, I don’t think I could picture anyone but Indigo FM performing it. The drums are hypnotic, but change up just in time for you to catch the groove. The guitars power through, creating a brilliant alternative rock vibe that makes me miss my high school days. The bass just shines through the whole track giving you this groovy line to follow. The vocals steal the show for me, personally. I think the true Alternative/Indie vibe lies in how brilliant the vocals gel with the track, and in this case, they gel better than salt and pepper.
I’m a huge fan of Indigo FM, and I believe that the indie scene is coming back with the four-piece band. I’d tell you to look out for them, but they’re making it all on their own and the music speaks for itself.
