‘Do You Like Me Now?’ by Love Ghost and Cinnamon Babe is a fierce alt-metal track that captures the fiery frustration of not being accepted for who you are.
The song’s aggressive percussion and sharp guitars highlight this frustration and help sustain it throughout. The vocals alternate from a soft, slow, reflective vocal delivery to electric screams, ripping at the listener.

‘Do You Like Me Now?’: Unapologetic Rebellious Fighting Spirit
‘Do You Like Me Now?’ feels like an anthem for rebels fighting against the will to conform. “Afraid is something I can’t be” Love Ghost sings quietly in the refrain, reflecting vulnerability and a fierce fighting spirit. Cinnamon Babe reflects this in her verse with lines like “…But in my truth is the me that you hate.”
There is a fierceness of the screams in ‘Do You Like Me Now?’ that communicates the anger in repression. The lyrics highlight the toll of being an outsider can take on someone even when they face their ostracisation.
The belting becomes unhinged towards the end of the song with the vocalists screaming “Do you hate me?” as the instruments ramp up in intensity. The breakdown in the outro is a symphony of textured layers, with belt-y vocals and loud instrumentation. This loud, sonic barrage of sorts, communicates crystalised anger which is an emotion that has been building up throughout the song.
‘Do You Like Me Now?’ by Love Ghost and Cinnamon Babe is a vitriolic critic of the hypocrisy of being “the odd ones out”. It communicates this through emotion and sound, becoming a cathartic outlet for whoever may listen.
