“All Out”, by Hindh: Clinical rap mastery!

Hindh is an emerging British Indian artist from London, dedicated to popularizing Hindi rap and the Desi Hip Hop scene in the UK, inspired by the vibrant Hip Hop cultures of India and Pakistan. Drawing influence from desi artists like DIVINE, Seedhe Maut, and Young Stunners, he presents his latest project, “All Out” — keep reading for my thoughts!

Blending Hindi lyrics with smooth-flowing production, Hindh sets the stage for “All Out” solidly with the intro track, an ethereal production with Hindh delivering a strong a cappella performance, speaking of themes of optimism, while maintaining an introspective tone; quite the foreshadowing?

There’s much to appreciate about “The Quiet Kid”, this time, taking a bit of a turn into more energetic hip-hop, with a far more open sound and quirky synths that lend the bounce to the track that makes it come alive. The Les Brown motivational speech makes an appearance here, quite fitting with the theme of the track; and as the lyrics announce themselves, Hindh impresses with his rapping and delivery. Striking the balance between the aggression in the verses with the singing in the choruses, this track is quite a compelling listen.

“Superman” is a show-stealing display of hardcore rapping and rhyming ability on “All Out” — delivering fast rhymes with complex rhymes in Hindi, Hindh alternates between syncopated and straight flows effortlessly, delivering bar over bar, supported closely by the bouncy, engaging production — and as the track progresses, you’re shown Hindh’s ability to tell compelling stories, and I’m glad to report that it pays off! The track has an unbelievably high level of energy, and there’s a feature from REVEAL bringing some of that UK rap charm to top things off in style.

As we journey on over the course of “All Out”, we’re now brought to “Samundar Paar” — translating to “Beyond The Oceans”, this track takes a page or two out of 00s and 90s hip-hop, blending it with modern sounds and influences to present an energetic, peppy listen that would quickly feel at home in a spirited driving playlist; and while the brasses impress in the background, the star of the show is the scratching work on the beat, and the overall execution.

Some other standouts on “All Out” include “Jhoom”, a refreshing track on the Bollywood original with a twist of UK Drill, “Raahi” with Daniyaal Omar, and “2AM In London”, which all shine with their innovative approaches to sound staging.

The production on “All Out” is the spirited, meticulous, and supremely well-executed kind; with a variety of tracks over the course of the album, the bounce never once leaves the listener, hitting back with uppercuts at every turn as the listener wonders what’s to come next to charm them. The mixes are tight and well-composed, with great energy and atmosphere, making this album a rewarding listen for even the most critical of listeners. Check out the album here!
