K.O.I are a vault of riffs, energy that ravages. This is the kind of band that flips the script on your daily routine. The kind of tune that makes you want to pick up the guitar. Quit your job. Shotgun a beer and start a revolution all by yourself. This one is called Henosis.
Though the band released this album in 2017, good music is timeless. Any good band can tell you that, if you blast some AC/DC time to time. A packing guitar riff is the opening, a gold nugget of a track called Ferrum. From the energizing riff, K.O.O develop something that prog metal legends would be proud to endorse.
Tracks like Keymaker and Gaea are reminders of their sharp approach to this meld they proudly perform. Tones are explored in variety, while the instrumental ingress is exactly what the doctor ordered. You’re treated to little snacks of double bass, the rhythms playing with the characteristic dominant theme chosen by the band. They don’t make you wait for the good stuff, but don’t keep it immediately in front of you to be overexposed as well.
Metal worth its while
You’ll listen to tracks like Insurgent and explore a side of making music that really gives life to the rhythm. It isn’t about the complexity, but how you connect with the simplicity. A perfect album in every way, Enigma gives you a meditative cocoon to wonder about the deeper things. It isn’t just attack and conquer every time, there is psychological expression that makes them one of the most versatile bands you’ll ever hear. K.O.I are your new favourites, whether you’re into this kind of genre or not.
If there is a symbol for “it isn’t about the destination, but the journey”, here is a band that can give you both. Good music doesn’t compromise.

Self professed metalhead, moderately well read. If the music has soul, it's whole to me. The fact that my bio could have ended on a rhyme and doesn't should tell you a lot about my personality.
