Guitar legends Fender have continued their roll of successful electronic products to complement their guitars, the latest addition to the group is the Telepath Wireless System. Say goodbye to pesky cables for when you’re rocking out on stage with this top-notch wireless system — keep reading for my thoughts!
Promising to be more effective and more efficient than the competition, the Telepath system promises “full-frequency wireless audio across any stage”, with lower-than-ever interference figures, and accurate guitar tone representation. It achieves this by bypassing the overcrowded 2.4GHz band, instead going all the way up to a 5.8GHz band for its transmission, achieving a latency of 4 milliseconds in tests.
With an auto-pairing feature to seamlessly link the transmission unit to the base, the Telepath system can transmit audio at ranges up to 70 feet (~23 m), and can accommodate electric guitars, basses, and acoustic guitars with a simple active/passive switch. Guitarists can also pair up to three transmitters to a single receiver, making guitars switches seamless and easy.
Some other welcome convenience features include USB-C connectivity to power the Telepath system up to an 8-hour playtime with 2 hours of charging, as well as articulating input plugs to accommodate a wide variety of jacks.

Fender’s executive vice president of product, Justin Norvell, says Telepath “demonstrates that Fender is still at the cutting edge of development and craftsmanship, as it was in 1954”.
All in all, the Fender Telepath Wireless System: This is a non-negotiable for any self-respecting gigging guitarist! At $199.99, the Telepath is also aggressively priced, and is all set to make a big splash in the industry. With the pedigree of Fender, this one is surely a worthwhile purchase.
